As the school year draws to a close, a palpable sense of excitement permeates the campus. Students and teachers alike eagerly anticipate the holidays—a time for rest, travel, and new adventures. However, for some students, this period marks more than just a break; it signals the beginning of an important transition to the next stage of their learning journey.
At YCIS Chongqing, we understand that transitions—whether between year levels or divisions—can bring both anticipation and uncertainty. These changes are especially significant for two key groups in our community: our K4 learners moving into Primary School, and our Year 6 students preparing for Secondary School. These milestones represent both academic and personal growth, and we are committed to supporting students every step of the way.
To ensure smooth transitions, we offer a thoughtful and structured program. K4 students have participated in Year 1 classes, helping them feel more comfortable in their new environment. Parents also attended Year 1 Transition Workshops, gaining valuable insights to support their children.
At the same time, our Year 6 students have been getting a real taste of Secondary School life. They spent a full day following a Year 7 timetable—moving between classrooms, joining lessons, and experiencing the rhythm of a typical Secondary day. A key part of the experience was interacting with current Year 7 students, who answered questions and shared their own transition stories. These peer connections helped ease nerves, build confidence, and spark excitement for the journey ahead.
At YCIS Chongqing, we believe transitions are more than logistical changes—they are key developmental moments. By building confidence and connection, we help students approach new beginnings with excitement and readiness.
