YCIS Chongqing made impressive strides at this year’s SCISAC Football Tournament in Nanjing, showcasing remarkable growth in both the boys’ and girls’ programs. Compared to previous years, players demonstrated improvement in confidence, teamwork, and tactical play amid strong regional competition.
The girls’ team finished their campaign with a commanding 2-0 win over Xiamen International School, highlighting their defensive discipline and sharp finishing. The boys’ team secured a playoff spot after a determined victory against Hangzhou International School. Although narrowly defeated 1-0 in the semi-finals, their performance was inspiring, with all playoff matches decided by a single goal.
The International School of Macau and Hong Kong Academy claimed the girls’ and boys’ titles, respectively. YCIS Chongqing’s boys earned the “Most Sporting Team” award, reflecting their outstanding sportsmanship and attitude. Individual honors went to Duane Wang, Emma Alexander, Eleanor Lynch, and Harry Xu, who received the “Play Hard, Play Fair” award. Notably, Eleanor and Harry led the scoring for their teams with over five goals each.
This tournament not only celebrated individual and team achievements while also underscoring YCIS Chongqing’s ongoing commitment to excellence in interschool sports.
