Last week, our school welcomed a fantastic group from Melbourne Girls Grammar School(MGGS) in Australia. Four enthusiastic students joined us for a one-week exchange programme, and the energy was palpable!

These students jumped right into the vibrant life at YCIS Chongqing, even getting to experience the warmth of our host families. They became part of our students' households, sharing laughs, stories, and plenty of memorable moments.

While at school, they dove into traditional Chinese culture, trying their hand at calligraphy, appreciating the beauty of Dunhuang art, and learning some graceful Chinese dance moves. They also practiced kung fu and tai chi. The adventure continued outside of school, where they explored the intricate world of Chinese tea culture and enjoyed the delicious flavors of Chongqing hotpot.

In just one whirlwind week, strong friendships blossomed between our exchange students and their YCIS peers, deepening their understanding of China’s rich heritage.

This exchange program went far beyond cultural experiences; it was a wonderful opportunity for students to immerse themselves in new cultures and perspectives. Whether stepping into the vibrant world of YCIS or venturing out into the bigger world, we are dedicated to shaping the future of our global citizens. That’s what our mission is all about!
