A beautiful spring day welcomed YCIS Chongqing’s first ever ‘Flea Market’. This first of its kind event was led and organised by our Parent Organisation (PO)and it proved to be a fantastic success.

After receiving a huge amount of support from parents with donations, the Parent Organisation set about cleaning and arranging the items ready for sale. From young children's picture books to youth novels, from toys to household appliances, the range of items for sale was astounding.

The blue sky and sunshine brough out a large number of parents, staff and then students once school had finished. Everyone was selecting items with great care while also trying to find a bargain! There were also lots of opportunities to socialise together. Our Primary students even played keyboards and violins, this wowed our guests and won a big round of applause.

The ‘lucky draw’ brought the event to a close with two Primary students becoming the luck winners.

At the end of the event, we discovered that nearly all of the stalls were sold out, there were a lot of happy faces as everyone appeared to buy their favourite item or in some case items!

These happy faces made this event even more rewarding.

All proceeds from this event will go into the PO fund and will be used to support upcoming student activities arranged by the Parent Organisation.
