We are delighted to share that two of our Secondary students, Hyein Kim and Cherry Pan, both in Year 12, recently participated in the ‘National Economics Challenge’ which is a US based international competition. The first hurdle that Hyein and Cherry faced was very strong competition from other students across China in the ‘regional round’. The activities included an online assessment and the writing of a motivational letter in order to gain entry into the ‘SMART finals round’.

Hyein received the Top Rookie Individual Award, the Excellence Award in Macro-Economics and Economics and Current Affairs. Cherry obtained the Bronze Prize and the Excellence Award in Macro-Economics and Economics and Current Affairs.

Both Hyein and Cherry will now move to the finals which will be held in April. The finals round is a 3-day competition which will involve them looking at various case studies to analyse, complete quizzes along with a question-and-answer session and finally the presentation of a business model.

We wish both Hyein and Cherry the very best of luck for the finals in April, its going to take a lot of resilience to get through those 3-days of competition, but we know you will give it your absolute best.
