    • Dear parents and guests,

Although the Founder’s Day Celebration is another for the memory book, we are still soaking in the excitement and gratitude we have for all of our students, teachers, alumni and parents. We have been blessed to with a community of caring individuals committed to ensuring the best education possible for their children and our community. Thank you for being part of this community!

At the event we received many requests for more information about the new College, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE). It is our pleasure to share more information about this with you now. And please watch your mail, as we will continue to share our news, including a virtual tour of the campus, in an effort to help you learn more about the exciting programs we are offering students.

We received approval from the Hong Kong SAR Government on June 28, 2018 to expand YCCC to a Bachelor’s degree (with honours) granting institution, and in early September, the College moved into our new permanent campus in Tin Wan, Aberdeen, Hong Kong. This expansion means that in two years’ time, we will be celebrating the graduation of our first Bachelor’s degree cohort with students who have completed a Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education (HDECE) programme this year.

These bright young teachers will then begin their careers in ECE as a “Yew Chung Educator”! We are excited that now Yew Chung and Yew Wah students can have a Yew Chung education from B 2 B, from baby to bachelor. We have come full circle with the opportunity to train and develop capable ECE teachers who will help shape children of the future.

YCCECE’s students come from diverse social backgrounds and various parts of the world, many of whom require financial support to study with us, but all of whom share a dream of serving and nurturing their country’s next generation. In mainland China and Hong Kong, with a vast population, there is also a large demand for ECE professionals, many of whom require financial assistance to enroll in YCCECE. Now we are reaching out to our community to encourage support for the work of YCCECE, through sponsorship of capital projects, scholarships, professorships or other projects. Together, we will nurture a new generation of Yew Chung Educators.

We are blessed to have a warm and supportive community who is truly committed to ensuring that children receive the best early childhood education possible. We look forward to sharing a virtual tour of YCCECE with you soon. If you are in Hong Kong, we’d love to give you a personal tour of the campus and introduce you to some of our bright young students. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Anna Chan, our Director of Development and Alumni Relations at annac@ycef.com. Thank you again for participating in the Founder’s Day event. I look forward to seeing you again soon.

      Yours sincerely,

      Dr. Betty Chan
