    • On Saturday evening, March 18th, the Yew Chung International School of Chongqing - the city's only accredited international school hosted the inaugural Yew Chung Yew Wah 90th anniversary gala at Jinke Grand Hotel. The gala marked the culmination of more than a year of planning and effort. The event was the first of many across the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, in which the Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network will celebrate an important milestone for the organization. We had the honour of welcoming parents of our students, staff, corporate sponsors, international consulate officers in Chongqing, and special guests from our YCYW network.

The gala celebrated the 22nd anniversary of YCIS Chongqing and the rich history and continued development of our network of schools. The event also included the official launch of the school's annual Seeds of Hope fund, which will be used to support outreach and innovative enrichment programmes. These activities will enhance our students' education and help us to forge bonds with the local community. We are proud to promote a culture of philanthropy and service at our schools.

Our guests enjoyed fine dining, a cocktail reception, and fantastic musical performances by the YCIS Chongqing Community Choir, the Balcanto Chamber Orchestra, students of the YCIS Chongqing orchestra, and our teachers Lucas Sorrentino and Jeffrey Vukovich. The gala also featured a lucky draw and a magic show. A highlight of the evening was the live auction. Our generous guests won valuable items and opportunities, such as to be 'The Principal for a Day' at our school and an invitation to a residential summer camp at Imperial College, London.

We are proud to be the first YCYW school to host a 90th-anniversary gala event and look forward to supporting our sister schools as they prepare gala nights in their cities.
