    • Align with Cultural and Arts is one of the missions of the YCYW education network. And music, in particular, plays an essential role in shaping student learning, creativity, and community spirit.

This year, YCIS Chongqing’s original musical, Feast of the Gods once again demonstrated how music can move people and bring them together. The journey began in October 2025, when the script first took shape and the creative team gradually came together. Through hands-on participation in extra-curricular activities, students built confidence, deepened their understanding of musical theatre, and prepared for the stage ahead.

After May, the production truly began to flourish. Students entered an intensive training and rehearsal period, working closely with Conductor Mr. Luca Sorrentino, drama instructors Ms. Effie Pollatos and Ms. Bowen Huang, and also collaborating deeply with YCYW’s Artist-in-Residence Mr. Allan M. Nazareno and Music Director Dr. Anton D. Luiten. With their guidance and support, each “seed” of effort grew into something remarkable.

Throughout the musical, students were more than performers—they were creators and collaborators. They told stories through song, expressed emotion through acting, and showed determination through every rehearsal and every moment of hard work. When the lights hit the stage, it was their energy and commitment that made every scene shine.

And behind the scenes, student teamwork made just as much difference. The backstage support team and theatre audiovisual technicians ensured everything ran smoothly, bringing professionalism and passion to every detail. Together, they showed what the YCIS spirit looks like from every role and every perspective.

Most importantly, this feast was made possible by the entire school community—students, teachers, parents, and the wider YCYW network. It reflected the strength of our music programme and captured meaningful moments when everyone worked toward one shared goal.

Although Feast of the Gods has come to an end, the spirit of collaboration and artistic passion that defines YCIS will never take its final bow.
