On Monday, May 12, we witnessed another successful Parent Retreat. This year’s Parent Retreat was the fourth retreat held at our school, attracting more than 40 parents to participate. The event was meticulously organized, with a clear focus on enhancing our understanding of bilingual education and its impact on our children’s development.
The retreat balanced expert speeches, interactive activities, parents sharing, and networking opportunities. The highlight was a workshop by Ms. Linda Li, a senior training specialist from YCYW Education Organization. Her presentation on language acquisition and bilingual development was both enlightening and practical, providing parents with actionable strategies to support their children's language learning at home.
The parent-sharing session was equally impactful. Hearing from Ms. Gu and Ms. Pollatos about their experiences and challenges in raising bilingual children was both reassuring and inspiring, reinforcing the sense of community and shared purpose.
It was a day of learning, connection, and empowerment. In conclusion, the Parent Retreat was a valuable experience that equipped parents with more knowledge and confidence to better support their children. As a school, we will continue to build high-quality communication platforms between home and school, and look forward to more meaningful activities in the future to give back to our community.
