    • Last week marked our school's annual field trip week. Our upper primary students stepped out of the classroom and set off for Chengdu and Xi'an, embarking on a journey of growth that bridged time and space.

Our Year 4 students visited the Taojia Wastewater Treatment Plant in Chongqing, witnessing firsthand the entire process of transforming dirty, smelly water into clean, clear water. From sedimentation and filtration to disinfection, every step left the children in awe. This "Responsible Global Citizen" inquiry lesson planted a seed of environmental awareness deep in their hearts.

Our Year 5 travelled to Chengdu, where they strolled through Wenshu Monastery, explored the ancient Dujiangyan irrigation system, and tried their hand at intangible cultural heritage — bamboo weaving. Through these hands-on experiences, they gained a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture and millennia-old wisdom.

Our Year 6 students journeyed to Xi'an. They explored the Terracotta Warriors and even moulded their own clay figures. They visited the Geely auto factory, where they witnessed the power of intelligent manufacturing, and walked along the ancient city wall, listening to echoes of the Silk Road. From history to modernity, from craftsmanship to industry, they learned by doing and grew by exploring.

As the saying goes, "Read ten thousand books and travel ten thousand miles." Every journey is a living classroom on the development path.
