YCIS Chongqing launched the Job Shadow Programme in July with Chongqing Yingang Science & Technology Group Co. Ltd. (Yingang Motorcycle Manufacturing Co., Ltd.). This initiative reflects the school’s commitment to connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences, helping students align their academic interests with hands-on professional environments.

Francesca Olea, a Year 13 student with a strong passion for mechanical engineering, participated in the two-week placement during the school’s summer break. She explored multiple departments, from design and development to production and quality control, gaining a comprehensive view of motorcycle manufacturing from concept to finished product.

Under the guidance of a corporate mentor from Yingang, Francesca engaged in diverse tasks, such as reviewing product specifications, undertaking practical design work, and creating 2D and 3D drawings using CAXA and UG NX software. She learned to evaluate the strengths of each software and apply them appropriately.

The Job Shadow Programme showcases the value of integrating academic pursuits with industry exposure. We celebrate Francesca’s growth and her bright future in engineering.
