The 2026 Chinese Bridge – Chinese Proficiency Competition (Storytelling Contest), Southwest Preliminary Round was held in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area on April 25. YCIS Chongqing proudly participated with six students and one teacher, demonstrating their enthusiasm for the Chinese language and culture and celebrating the spirit of cross-cultural exchange.
In the offline round, primary students Ibrahim, Gloria, Emilia, and KIM JIUN joined teacher Luke. The students prepared carefully before the competition, refining their stories and sharing sincere connections to their daily experiences learning Chinese. On stage, they showcased strong Chinese language skills, confidence, and impressive courage. They also interacted and learned alongside contestants representing 37 countries, reflecting the open, communicative spirit of our YCIS community.
Meanwhile, secondary students Qiqi and Jasraj represented the school in the online portion of the competition. They worked hard to prepare and performed with outstanding dedication on the virtual stage. The online competition is still ongoing, and we look forward to receiving encouraging results as they continue striving for their best.
As a multicultural and inclusive international school, YCIS Chongqing places great emphasis on Chinese culture education and meaningful cross-cultural learning. Participation in the competition provides valuable opportunities for our students and teachers to showcase their talents, while also supporting the promotion of China’s rich cultural heritage and strengthening students’ cross-cultural communication skills.
