YCIS Chongqing was proud to host the 2026 SCISAC Basketball Tournament, welcoming student-athletes, coaches, and supporters from The International School of Macau (TIS), Hangzhou International School (HIS), Nanjing International School (NIS), Xiamen International School (XIS), Hong Kong Academy (HKA), and our own YCIS Chongqing community. Over three days of intense and highly competitive basketball, the tournament showcased not only athletic talent, but also resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship at the highest level.
The level of competition was tighter than ever, with every school demonstrating remarkable growth and improvement compared to previous years. On the boys’ side, Xiamen International School claimed the championship title, followed by Hong Kong Academy and TIS Macau. YCIS Chongqing finished in 5th place after an excellent final performance against Hangzhou International School, securing a convincing victory with a strong point margin.
In the girls’ division, TIS Macau captured the championship, with Xiamen International School finishing as runners-up. Our YCIS Chongqing girls earned an impressive 3rd place overall after defeating Hong Kong Academy in a dramatic bronze medal match decided by a single point in the final moments of the game.
In recognition of their outstanding sportsmanship and commitment to fair play, the YCIS Chongqing “Play Hard, Play Fair” awards were presented to Yancy Sun and Eleanor Lynch on the girls’ side, and Chiho Song and Xuan Wei on the boys’ side.
Throughout the tournament, all teams demonstrated tremendous effort and determination, reflecting the continued growth of SCISAC basketball. We are already looking forward to next year’s competition and the continued development of our student-athletes.
