    • Last week, our wonderful Book Week 2026 brought the whole YCIS Chongqing campus to life—where stories weren’t just read, but recreated and celebrated.

On the ECE & Primary floors, the theme Story Remix sparked creativity across classrooms and hallways. Students explored how to reimagine familiar tales in fresh and exciting ways, discovering new connections to literature. Classroom doors were transformed with displays of students’ favourite books, turning everyday spaces into story-filled showcases. From the buzz of the Monday Book Fair to the collaborative energy of the mid-week Book Swap, the week built momentum for a memorable finale.

Last Friday, our annual Character Parade brought excitement to its peak as students across all primary year groups stepped forward to bring their characters to life—an inspiring highlight of the vibrant YCIS English Experience.

On the Secondary side, Creativerse: A Week of Literary Adventures turned Year 7–10 students into active creators. They crafted original stories, alternative endings, and character diaries—selected based on literature that sparked their interest. Authentic English language use, creative thinking, and thoughtful revision were at the heart of the process. The week also included an author visit, a book fair, and a dress-up day.

In every classroom, hallway, and display, Book Week 2026 reflected what we value most at YCIS: curiosity, imagination, and confident communication.
