    • Last Friday, our Year 10 students embarked on an interdisciplinary learning expedition to the Metro Supermarket in Nanan. This learning outside the classroom experience, designed by the Math and Humanities departments, turned the shopping centre into a living classroom where students applied their theoretical knowledge to a real-world scenario.

During the visit, students delved into Metro's warehouse operations, engaged in hands-on cooking sessions, and interacted with customers and employees through interviews, amassing a wealth of valuable data while honing their research skills These immersive experiences not only enriched their grasp of mathematical and economic principles but also underscored the real-life relevance of their studies.

      Key Questions Explored:

      • Is Metro a profitable business?
      • Are Metro members price-sensitive?
      • How does Metro manage inventory and customer satisfaction?

The students and Metro staff involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Over the next few weeks, our students will analyze the data collected to address their inquiry questions, further enhancing their learning.

This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering real-world learning experiences that inspire curiosity and critical thinking. We are grateful to the Metro Supermarket team and our dedicated teachers for making this impactful opportunity possible. We look forward to more such experiences that bridge classroom learning with practical application.
