21 of our secondary students embarked on the annual 2018 ACAMIS Soccer Tournament trip to Dongguan over the weekend of April 19-21, 2018. With relatively smooth travels on the plane and bus, we arrived the venue without much delay.

On the first day, our girls played against the home school, ISD and boys against our fellow YCIS Shanghai. The girls were asked to make a fast start and got final score 7-0. That’s definitely a great start to the tournament.

The next day, our girls were again asked for a fast start. A 4-0 win meant we finished the round-robin games undefeated in first place with finals beginning in third day.

With the girls finishing on top of the round-robin table and the boys in second we entered the final day of the ACAMIS Soccer championship with realistic opportunities to take home both first place trophies. Fantastic effort over the whole three days meant our ACAMIS girls team won their 4th straight tournament, and girls soccer teams at YCIS have now won the last 9 championships! Our girls were proud to maintain this legacy.

Judging off three days’ performance, we kept playing with positivity, spirit and intensity we went deep into the final. Thanks for the support back in Chongqing!
