    • On Tuesday, January 17, students and staff from YCIS Chongqing performed in Jiefangbei in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year. The event was hosted by the Jiefangbei CBD Entrepreneurs’ Association, with VIP guests from consulates, chamber representatives, as well as entrepreneurs , YCIS Chongqing made quite an impression for over 200 people involved.

To begin the evening, YCIS staff band - The Crates wowed the crowd with their rocking rendition of Blue Suede Shoes followed by the well-known Chinese song, Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin. Needless to say, that number was a huge hit with the audience.

Further along in the program, the YCIS Chongqing Noteworthy Singers Children’s Choir showed off their talents with three amazing pieces. It was all smiles in the venue as the students beautifully sang Blue Skies, It’s a Beautiful Day, and Hello to All the Children of the World.

Shortly after, YCIS Chongqing Secondary Girls Dance Team put on a lovely performance dancing to Love Song of the Diatom, a selection from last year’s Ocean World concert. Finally, the Secondary instrumental ensemble performed Elegy by Gary Sanderson. Both acts were met with astounding applause.

Once again, YCIS student and staff talents were showcased throughout the city of Chongqing. It was a great night for all.
