    • The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important festival, second only to the Spring Festival among Chinese traditional festivals. It is a time for families to be together appreciating the moon and eating moon cakes.

In keeping with this, YCIS Chongqing held an activity called “DIY Moon Cakes for your Family” during the Chinese Studies lesson in the Primary Department. Students made their own delicious moon cake to take home for their families to enjoy together.

The teachers and students experienced mixing the flour and water, rolling the stuffing and using the moon cake mold. The parents saw how much hard work the children put into their moon cakes to demonstrate how much they love and care for their families.

Year1 students made rabbit chime and the Moon Pic collage with their teachers. They learned more about the cultural background about Mid-Autumn Festival.

We will have different activities related to Chinese Traditional festivals over the year including the Spring Festival and Dragon Boat Festival. This will allow students to experience Chinese Culture and enjoy the fun of DIY!
