    Year of Opportunity

    • The start of every school year always presents opportunities for members of our learning community. With nearly 400 students and over 150 staff, some meticulous planning has been undertaken to ensure 2016-17 provides a year of exploration and achievement.

We have recruited a group of enthusiastic and highly experienced teachers to complement our existing team. The largest influx of new staff is in the Secondary section as the school aims to expand this programme. Two major developments this year will be the CIS/NEASC/NCCT Accreditation and the IB Diploma Authorization processes. In order to fulfil the accreditation and authorization requirements, YCIS has engaged in a process of self-reflection, evaluating all aspects of the school’s operations and learning programme. Visiting teams of educators will provide invaluable feedback and recommendations that will form the basis for the development of the school’s strategic direction. Consequently, we do view 2016-17 as the ‘year of opportunity’, to build on the school’s strengths and further develop into one of the regions premier international schools. I am extremely impressed with the commitment and motivation of all our teachers and support staff.

Congratulations to all students who completed the rigorous IGCSE programme. We are very proud of the results our students obtained and the learning they gained over this two year course. They are now well prepared to complete the YCIS Diploma in Year 12/13. Our graduating students are now finalizing their university placements, which we will communicate to you as their acceptances are finalised. We know that we have prepared these fine young adults for the life challenges that await them.

We look forward, with great expectation, to another exciting and productive year for all at YCIS Chongqing!
