Language is such a powerful tool. Public speaking embodies this power. Speakers present with cadence and eloquence to make listeners laugh, nod, and appreciate.
Over the past few weeks, YCIS Chongqing Year 5 and Year 6 students have challenged themselves to participate in a Chinese Public Speaking Competition. After fierce competition in the preliminary stages, 12 students reached the final which was held in the new auditorium on Thursday.
Both students and teachers enjoyed the exciting feast of language as the students presented fantastic stories and points of view.
Some of their creative inventions included; letters to distant friends, beautiful hometowns and a reflection on the advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones for Primary School students.
Congratulations to Xidi Xu, Xuan Wei, Yeonseo Han and Jiwon Hong who were the winners within their groups, they demonstrated excellent language ability and superb public speaking skills!
