    • YCIS Chongqing held it’s annual PINK SHIRT DAY on Friday 26th February. Each member of our school community was encouraged wear pink (or a similar colour) to symbolize that we do not tolerate bullying and recognize the importance of showing kindness to everyone.

It was back in 2007, when two students David Shepherd and Travis Price from a High School in Canada held the very first Pink Shirt Day event to support a boy who was bullied because he wore a pink T-shirt. Inspired by this act of kindness, people all over the world also decided to join in the fun and celebrate Pink Shirt Day. This event has grown year on year and people worldwide are now participating to show their support and be committed to end bullying and prejudice.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all and it has shown the importance of helping one another and advocating for those who need it. Every contribution, whether it’s joining us in wearing pink to show you’re taking a stand or just making an effort to practice acceptance and empathy make a real difference, it can actually change someone’s life for the better.

Everyone is dressed in pink, the worldwide color to show we challenge bullying in all of its forms.
