    • Coming from UK, Mr Luke Hooman joined YCIS in Aug 2019 as a Primary teacher. He finished his Bachelor's Degree reading Journalism and Spanish at the University of Stirling in 2010 and in 2016 completed his post graduate diploma at the University of Dundee in Primary Education. Before joining YCIS, Mr Hooman had worked in different primary schools and education organizations in Spain, China, and Scotland. He also has accreditation as a football coach and after two years coaching with Kinross Colts JFC, now coaches the YCIS SCISAC team.


      Mr. Hooman believes that for children to develop a lifelong love of learning, they must enjoy coming to school and be exposed to a range of subjects, ideas and take part in varied learning experiences. Today children have to grow up to be confident, open-minded and self-motivated in order to succeed in an increasingly competitive world. This, he believes begins by developing social skills and effective learning habits in the early years and primary school.


      Upon his arrival at YCIS, Mr. Hooman has been really impressed with the school learning environment here. In Primary Learning Community, highly experienced professionals boasting a plethora of skills and talents that provide children the opportunity to learn and grow up in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment which combines the strongest aspects of Western and Chinese education.


      In his spare time, Mr. Hooman enjoys spending time with family, playing guitar and reading. He also loves to play and coach football. He is looking forward to taking the YCIS team to Macao to play against other international schools from around China in November community.


      Mr. Hooman is very happy working at YCIS Chongqing, He hopes to contribute to the ethos of the school and the wider community. He looks forward to staying here and develop as a professional for many years to come.
