The beginning of a new school year always brings a mix of excitement and anxiousness to the school community. Renovations to school facilities, fresh ideas from our new teaching team, newly joined families from all over the world, and the excitement associated with our recently released IBDP and IGCSE results, which were exceptional, all add to the anticipation of the new school year!
On Friday 16th August, we held our annual ‘New Family Orientation Day’, welcoming in excess of 70 students and nearly 50 families into our learning community.
These new students were introduced to their classroom and subject teachers, gaining an understanding of the school’s expectations and some of the wonderful learning experiences they will encounter during the year. We also oriented the new parents, providing details of the school’s expectations of our families as well as outlining how they can become actively involved in our community and how best to support their children.
During the first week of the school, students from different year levels actively involved in many learning activities, which displayed ‘a joy of learning’ atmosphere around the campus. For ECE children, separating from their parents is definitely not easy, however we witnessed their improvement every day. In Primary class, students were getting familiar with school facilities and starting to make new friends. Secondary students look a bit more serious than the younger children in ECE and Primary, they discussed with their teachers about subject studies, talked to peers, and set their goals in learning.
