    • From the 21 to the 24 March, ten YCIS Chongqing students attended the Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) in Beijing for the first time the school’s history. All of the ten students had worked hard since August to prepare for the conference, dedicating a great deal of their time to research the structure of the United Nations and to explore the chosen topics for debate.

Our school was chosen to represent the Philippines. The involved students were tasked with researching the Philippines stance on world issues so they could represent their country effectively at the conference. At times this proved challenging because the views of the Philippines might not necessarily represent their own views. However, this was a great learning experience, allowing the participating students to explore topics in an international context.

On the first day of the conference many of the students were nervous and unsure of themselves. However, after the first committee session all of them felt more confident and began to immerse themselves in the event. They met students from all over China and the world and worked together with their new friends to form blocs and begin writing their resolutions. They truly excelled did themselves, and the school, proud.
