Spring Festival atmosphere has filled up the YCIS Chongqing campus; the school was full of lights, decorations and good cheer. On the afternoon of January 30, all students and staff celebrated the arrival of the Chinese lunar New Year with great joy.

This year's celebrations were rich and varied. First of all, famous magicians and acrobats prepared a fantastic performance - everyone was overwhelmed by the magic show and amazing acrobatics, the kids said “this is really a cool show!”

Following the magic show, ECE and Primary students participated in many interesting handcraft workshops led by visiting Folk Artists that includes sculpting clay figurines, cutting window patterns, making balloon animals and creating Chinese knots. Every student even received a lovely small gift after the workshop.

In Secondary, students prepared a Spring Festival culture fest, all kinds of performances made parents, teachers and students sore from clapping too hard! There was a piano song - You Exist in My Song, there was a solo dance Luo Fu Xing, and the highlight was the CAL students performing Black and White legs. Students also performed a short play, Super Happy Shoe Insoles, and the Chinese teachers joined in the act as well. The many different kinds of performances created so much joy and laughter, the students used their performances to show their understanding of the Spring Festival and Chinese culture, and to show the integration of eastern and western cultures in YCIS Chongqing.
