The thoughtful YCIS Parent Organisation (PO) have filled the campus with warmth and love by putting up beautiful decorations around campus, reminding everyone that the holiday season is just around the corner. This festive atmosphere set the perfect backdrop for the exhilarating Holiday Spectacular event held on Friday, December 20th. As students, parents, and community members gathered for a show and good cheer, the celebration showcased an extraordinary display of talent and creativity.
The audience was welcomed by the orchestra and the community choir, making for a dramatic start to the show. This was followed by a captivating performance by Year 7 students, who sang a song composed of melodies they created themselves, demonstrating their musical ingenuity. Years 8 and 9 also impressed the audience as they were accompanied by the orchestra, while Year 10 students took to the stage with their arrangement from The Nutcracker. Additionally, a small ensemble provided holiday music both before and during the show.
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the talent show, featuring a diverse array of acts that included classical music, modern pop songs, rapping, and dancing, not to mention the (sometimes) witty banter of the hosts. The fashion show showcased the creative designs of students, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event: all this to demonstrate the unique talents of our students in secondary school.
So, just as soon as it began, our annual holiday concert came to an end. Parents and attendees left with chatter about the performances and excited expectations for their upcoming vacations. The Holiday Spectacular not only highlighted the remarkable talents of YCIS Chongqing’s students but also embodied the festive spirit that unites us all during this special time of year.
