    • It has taken a while, but finally our Primary students were able to take to the stage and perform in a musical concert. The audience were a little younger than expected as parents were unfortunately replaced by some of our lower Secondary students.

All of the students from Years 1 to Year 6 treated the audience to some wonderful performances as classes, small groups and individuals. The children looked resplendent in there brightly coloured tie-dye T-shirts that had been made as part of a cross curricular learning approach with Art.

Our wonderful hosts, Kiki from Year 5 and Ryan from Year 6, enthralled us with their musical facts and jokes. They certainly demonstrated a level of maturity and confidence well beyond their age and will be challenging our older students to host events in the future.

The performances had it all, from ‘boom whackers’ to piano, along with violins and voices, at times they were also supported by our magnificent school orchestra. It was a concert that will be fondly remembered by many of our performers as they certainly did themselves and their peers proud.

The concert came to a close with a whole Primary School song on why YCIS Chongqing is the best, well with performances like that, why would we not think otherwise!

We would like to congratulate and thank Ms Nazaralieva, Zhao Laoshi and Tang Laoshi for their organisation and planning, we wouldn’t have been able to put on this performance without them. Finally congratulations to all of our students for their fantastic performances, you certainly twinkled like little stars on our stage.
