    • Sportsmanship and resilience are important traits for our students. Sports is a fantastic way to learn new skills, build new friendships, maintain a healthy body, sharper memory and thinking skills, develop a higher self-esteem, give more energy, better sleep, and stronger resilience. Through the Physical Education curriculum and our Extra-Curricular Sports Program, we teach these important values to our students.

Semester 2, has had some great opportunities for our students to show their talents on the field, court, track and in the pool.

The Semester started by YCIS Chongqing hosting the annual SCISAC Volleyball tournament, in which we welcomed five other international schools from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. In March a group of sixteen swimmers traveled to Suzhou for the ACAMIS Swim Meet. This year’s Sports Day was conducted under bright sunshine, all students participated in a range of events, such as the 100-meter sprint, hurdles, long- and high jump, 1600 meter run and a throwing event. Additionally, the PE department added a fitness testing station, which rewarded the students who showed great effort, resilience and a keep-going attitude.

In the last week of April, our ACAMIS Soccer team traveled to Chengdu, to play under tough conditions. The scorching sun, 35 degrees on the field and a great competition, didn’t stop the boys- and girls’ team from taking home three trophies. The girls remained their status as the reigning champions of the ACAMIS Soccer Tournament

With the semester almost coming to an end we have more big events lined up. From May 8-12, our SCISAC Basketball team will travel to Taiwan to complete the tournament. Before we finish this school year, the PE Department invites you on the join us at the demonstration of the students’ dance and performance skills on June 5 at the YCIS Lip Sync Battle, in the Great Hall, hope to see you all there!
