Recently, we have been assigned of a five-class challenge in business class. This challenge requires us to design a bi-functional product that is not available on the market. The design has to be complete during the time of five-class period, using the knowledge we have learned to make detailed market planning.
On the first day, we designed the first draft of our product. We decided to integrate the cutting board with the electronic scale and improve it. We also decided our main focus group of family, as well as product development direction. The following day, we created an online questionnaire, through which we can learn about our audience's demand for our product and some features that we could improve on. The bus day was ended by naming our company: Express.
On the third day, we created the product slogan "A Step of Improvement" and began to prepare the market plan, including price, method of promoting our products, the necessary materials needed, and etc. The design of the bulletin board was completed on the fourth day and we began to practice our three-minute speech for the last day. The fifth day was challenge and tough. We not only finished the poster design and exhibition board decoration, but also successfully complete our speech in front of the judges.
Overall, this is an extraordinary activity, through which we have a more thorough understanding of market planning, and have benefited a lot. We really hope that there will be more opportunities in the future to share with others what we have learned.
