    • On Friday, February 15, 2019, the YCIS Chongqing Student Council’s Annual Winter Ball was held in the Great Hall. Each year, this event is hosted by the Student Council and all Secondary students are invited to shed their school uniforms and don a tuxedo to enjoy the music, dance and the many surprises!

We all arrived at 6 p.m. sharp and were greeted with an impressive wall poster at the entrance designed by Tobe Tam, which offer a hint of the theme to this year’s Winter Ball, ‘Masquerade’! Dressed formally, and some for the first time, Secondary students were given masks before entering the Great Hall, thus adding a twist and some intrigue to the event. The night was filled with joy, delicious drinks from the mock tail bar, Italian cuisine, loud but tasteful music and lots of dancing. Mr Yuen did an excellent job as the DJ, playing songs from both Eastern and Western cultures. There were also live performances by our very own "Tobe Tam" in Year 13, John Leaño in Year 12, Jessica Reed in Year 11, Jack Hayley in Year 10 and Chris Lee in Year 10. The Student Tech Team did an incredible job taking loads of fantastic photographs that will provide many memories that will linger on.

Once again, the Student Council have done a sensational job in organising this memorable event. The feedback from all students is that they are already looking forward to the next Winter Ball in 2020.

We know that this relatively new YCIS Chongqing tradition will continue to bring enormous joy and unity to our YCIS learning community in the years ahead. We thank all students who attended as well as the Student Council and chaperones who ensured the evening was a huge success.
