On October 12, 2018, YCIS Chongqing had a wonderful learning experience at this year’s Founder’s Day, celebrating 86 years of academic excellence across the many schools within the Yew Chung Education Foundation.

Students in Years 1 – 13 were treated to a special programme revolving around the ‘Sports’ theme. Activities included gymnastics, a rugby clinic, dodgeball, sports & exercise, handball, soccer, aerobics, battles stations and cross fit. These activities were scheduled before and after the video linkage to all the schools within the YCEF, who each offered a message of congratulations to the main venue in Shanghai.

Our students were also treated to a Taekwondo presentation performed by a group of Korean primary students, ‘The National Taekwondo Demonstration Team’. We were mesmerised by their incredible skills and outstanding discipline in performing a range of moves on stage.

This brilliant day concluded with a Happiness Walk and Run that proved a very ‘colourful’ conclusion to the week. We extend a huge thank you to Mr. Wilbert Kwakkel, Mr. Jason Wang, Mr. Jacob Benson and the whole Technology team for orchestrating an outstanding whole school event.
