Year 6 Graduation to Secondary
This academic year has drawn to a close and both Year 13s and ECE students have celebrated their transitions to new stages of their education. Year 6 students have also recently commemorated their shift to Secondary School.

Raffles Hospital Visits YCIS
YCIS Chongqing welcomed the Director of Corporate Office Ms Pauline Chua from the Raffles Hospital that newly opened in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area on January 7, 2019. This was an opportunity for Ms Chua to share with the Senior Leadership Team the range of services on offer to our staff at this modern medical facility as well as discuss the wonderful learning programmes that we offer to expatriate families.
Little Leaders in the Making
On Thursday, June 13, 2019, the ECE children celebrated their accomplishments in our annual Graduation and Awards ceremony. We had been practising shaking hands and posing for photos all week, and when it came time for the real thing, the children all performed perfectly – almost no stage-fright!
Lip Sync Battle
This year, on June 8, the Physical Education Department showcased student skills in a Lip Sync Battle. As our charismatic hosts, Olivia Choi and David Zheng, explained at the beginning of the show, "lip-sync" is a simple concept. A team of students choregraphed, rehearsed and performed a dance, whilst inviting a teacher to "sing" the lyrics. Yes, a simple concept. But one that, without a doubt, it was taken to a high standard.

Congratulations to YCIS Chongqing's First Cohort of IBDP Graduates
The YCIS Chongqing community, with students, staff, family and friends, united together to celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2019 in the Great Hall on June 6, 2019. This was a particularly special year for the school as this was our first graduating cohort who completed the newly introduced International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
Group 4 Project – Scientific Solutions to the Plastic Problem
The Group Four Project (G4P) is a graduation requirement for the IB diploma programme which aims to nurture the personal skills that our students will need as potential future scientists. For the G4P, students had the task of designing their own research projects and carrying them out to collect data and then presenting their findings to a real audience.
Celebrating Duanwu Festival
The annual Duanwu Festival, also called Double Fifth Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar. It is one of the most important events on the Chinese calendar. In the week of June 3–6, students in Year 7–9 participated in Dragon Boat Races and a Duanwu Puzzle Competition to celebrate this traditional Festival.
