On May 23, 2019, the Year 3 Learning Community challenged themselves to a day of life skills. The aim was to develop our leadership, teamwork, listening, problem solving, creativity and positivity.

On the weekend of May 18-19, five Business students form YCIS Chongqing, four Year 12 students from the IBDP program and one Year 10 IGCSE student, signed up for the 5th edition of the China Youth Business League (CYBL) competition.
Chongqing Europeans Enjoy the Music of YCIS
On May 17, the European Chamber of Commerce of Southwest China held a celebration commemorating the founding of the European Union. As a member, YCIS was invited to participate at the event and we were honored to bring with us some excellent musical performances.

Energy and Climate Change has been the focus of the Year 4 Learning Community’s most recent Topic lessons. Students have explored the challenges of a modernizing world where more and more carbon is being pumped into their air and the negative affect this has on our environment. Students have learned how our world has increasingly relied on non-renewable sources of energy for their travel and daily living including electricity use.
Celebrating Chinese Study at YCIS！
As an important part of the curriculum in ECE and Primary, Chinese culture class is very popular among our children. This semester, various learning communities in ECE and Primary have carried out a variety of activities in Chinese Culture.
YCIS Chongqing Year 6 Xi’an Camp
Xi’an, located in central-northwest China, records the great changes of the country just like a history book. It was called Chang’an in ancient times which means the eternal city. As the eastern terminal of the Silk Road and the site of the famous Terracotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty, Xi’an city now has won a good reputation all around the world.

Over the past few weeks, YCIS Chongqing, as the only fully accredited IGCSE school in Chongqing, has had the privilege of being part of a number of different interfaces with our IGCSE Examination Board / Awarding Body.
Semester 2 Sports at YCIS Chongqing
Sportsmanship and resilience are important traits for our students. Sports is a fantastic way to learn new skills, build new friendships, maintain a healthy body, sharper memory and thinking skills, develop a higher self-esteem, give more energy, better sleep, and stronger resilience. Through the Physical Education curriculum and our Extra-Curricular Sports Program, we teach these important values to our students.
