On the final day of the academic year for the students, they left school, but many knew it wouldn’t be for long as our first ever Summer Camp was just around the corner. The camp gave them the opportunity to reconnect with friends, and have fun, developing new skills and succeeding in different types of non-academic challenges.
Meet Our New School Leadership Team
As a new SLT we are excited to welcome back new and existing students to our school, which is why preparations are already well underway for next academic year, with changes being made to our school environment and new resources being unpacked and prepared ready for use. One of the key developments for us as a school will be communication with our school community. As an SLT, we will be sharing regular updates on the developments within school and our progress against our key school improvement priorities. We will also be providing greater opportunities for parents to speak with us about how we can further support the development of our students along with providing you with a series of workshops to discover what YCIS stands for and how we provide a very unique international learning experience.
Year End Letter from School Leadership Team
This week brings an end to an extremely eventful 2019-2020. The school has been closed to a pandemic for fourteen weeks and that students and staff have been engaged in an e-learning programme that had never been trialled before. We thank all members of the YCIS Chongqing community for your support during these challenging times and offer congratulations for the wonderful collaboration on display as students, teachers and parents worked together to develop a coherent learning programme.
K4 Class of 2020 Shine at Graduation Ceremony
The Graduation tradition continued at YCIS Chongqing, with our ECE students celebrating the successful graduation of K4 students.
Year 6 Graduation to Secondary
This academic year has drawn to a close and Year 13s have celebrated their transitions to new stages of their education. Year 6 students have also recently commemorated their shift to Secondary School.
Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2020
Friday the 5th of June saw the passing of a most significant event at YCIS Chongqing, that of the class of the 2020 transitioning from students of the school to graduates of the school.
Our ECE Students Bring Joyful Exuberance
The ECE Teaching Team were delighted to be able to welcome back the K3 and K4 students on June 2. After in excess of four months at home, completing e-learning activities with their families, our ECE students bounded into school with an enormous amount of energy, eager to interact with their friends and teachers.
Programming Challenge Accepted and Completed
YCIS Chongqing is proud to acknowledge the impressive achievement of five "tech-minded" students, including Jack Hayley, Matthew Leano, Dain Woo, Chris Lee and Orlando Ortega who undertook the Cisco Python Essentials course, which is a programme widely recognised the technology industry. Endorsed by the Python Institute and aimed at tertiary education students, our five students demonstrated their impressive computing skills and, despite the isolation during school closures, were able to successfully complete the course.
‘Portrait Cos Challenge’ Proved to be Great Fun
It is incredible to think that ECE have now completed our 14th week of e-learning due to the school closure as the pandemic continues around the world. While our students are unable to busy themselves in the school’s bright and busy learning environment, engaging with their peers and teachers in face to face activities, it is clear to us all that they are enjoying their e-learning.
