    • The recent Chongqing Education Bureau announcement stated that local schools will re-open on Monday 20th April. After numerous Government Departmental campus tours, as part of the school’s H&S evaluation, YCIS Chongqing finally received confirmation that the school will reopen on Monday April 20th, for Year 11 / 13 students and teachers. We are certain that news of the school re-opening will be well received by all community members.

In preparation for re-opening, the campus has undergone a thorough deep cleaning process, following the guidelines set by the local authorities, as a component of achieving government approved ‘school readiness’ approval. The sun has been shining this week in the city of Chongqing and the campus is fully prepared for the return of students and staff.

The first cohort to witness the exciting moment will be our Year 11 and Year 13 students, who will spend the last two months of the 2019-20 academic year in their regular classrooms, with face to face interaction with their teachers and peers. We believe this will be a significant and memorable moment in this very different academic year. We have had feedback from many students, longing for a return to YCIS Chongqing.

We haven’t forgotten those students and families who can’t be back in Chongqing, as the school will be offering a dual learning programme, which means normal classroom and the e-learning pogramme. Parents have the option to choose to attend classroom learning or continue with the online e-learning whether they are in or out of Chongqing. Clearly, all our teachers would prefer our students to join their friends in their classrooms.

We recognize that there will continue to be challenges faced once the school re-opens and we welcome feedback. In order to ensure the safety of students and staff on campus, the school has developed safety procedures and expect that everyone has read these instructions and strictly adheres to this advice. For those in Chongqing, we look forward to welcoming our students back to school, beginning with our Year 11 and Year 12 students on Monday.
