YCIS Chongqing 2011 Christmas Concert

On December 14, 2011 YCIS Chongqing put on our annual Christmas Concert. As those in attendance can attest, this year’s show was the best yet with high quality stage props and costumes, sound and lighting, live singing acts, and scripts written and performed by our very own YCIS Chongqing staff and students.

“Preparations began later than normal this year, but everyone worked extremely hard to put on the best show we could,” said Mr. Van Volkom, one of the Christmas Committee members who helped organise the concert.  And a great show it was for showcasing the amazing talents of so many of our students at YCIS Chongqing. From the Secondary Choir singing adapted hits from the Beatles and Coldplay to stage hands with their flawless set changes to the actors both in Primary and Secondary who brought the plays alive, one thing is for sure: YCIS Chongqing’s got talent!

“This was the best Christmas Concert we have ever seen. We expected something smaller, but this was a full production!” said new parents who had just witnessed their first YCIS Chongqing  Christmas concert. All the feedback we have received has been very positive and many people were excited to see the newly renovated Great Hall open for use. After the show, the merriment continued as people sipped hot cacao, mulled wine, and eggnog while wishing others a happy and safe holiday and beginning of a new year.

Once again, thank you so much to all those who contributed to and attended such an amazing event. The only question that remains is how will YCIS Chongqing top this year’s concert next year? Be there in December 2012 to find out!
