Yew Chung International School of Chongqing (YCIS Chongqing) was the first international school in Chongqing City, China and remains the only international school in Chongqing fully approved by the Chinese Central Government. The Chongqing Municipal Government encouraged Yew Chung to establish the school and the official registration was completed in September 2001.

In winter 2007, YCIS Chongqing moved into a new and beautiful campus, complete with a wide variety of facilities such as large, well-designed classrooms, sports facilities, an indoor gymnasium and an auditorium. The campus is situated on Jinyu Road in the New Northern Chongqing Development Area, nestled safely between two tunnels, with an inspiring panoramic view from many of the classrooms.

YCIS Chongqing offers a unique education philosophy that integrates the best elements of both Eastern and Western cultures. This educational approach ensures that students will enter the 21st century as "global citizens", fluent in at least two major world languages (English and Chinese) and have high degrees of cultural awareness, tolerance and respect for others. This, coupled with and underpinned by sound moral and spiritual values, will affirm the worth and dignity of each individual.
