Tom Ulmet Superintendent	Mr. Matthew Nicholson Western Co-Principal	Ms. Sophie Che Chinese Co-principal

Yew Chung recruits experienced, seasoned and eligible Western teachers globally, as well as high-caliber local Chinese teaching professionals. These two groups form a bilingual professional team to provide quality education. In addition to their high academic qualifications, teachers are selected for their commitment and dedication to teaching, along with an attitude of caring for students and an acceptance of Yew Chung's philosophy and pedagogical goals to nurture multicultural world citizens for the 21st century.

Mr. Tom Ulmet
Superintendent of YCIS in mainland China
Tom Ulmet is from North Carolina, USA and joined Yew Chung Education Foundation in August, 2002. He holds BA, MA and M Ed degrees. His career includes work at three universities and five international schools, two in England, one in Switzerland, Germany and now China. He oversees the academic programmes in all Yew Chung International Schools in China. Council of International Schools selected Mr Ulmet to be an accreditation advisor in Asia and he is also Chair of Shanghai International Schools Association. He serves as a volunteer on the Board of Advisors of Aktiv Kidz Shanghai.

Mr. Matthew Nicholson
Western Co-Principal
Mr. Matthew Nicholson is from Australia, and first joined Yew Chung in Hong Kong in 2001, working as teacher and Primary School Co-ordinator. After working as the Assistant Principal of a large K–12 Christian school in Brisbane, he has rejoined YCIS Chongqing as Western Co-Principal. He holds a Bachelor of Teaching (majoring in Physical Education) and a Bachelor of Education and Master of Educational Administration. Mr. Nicholson has over seven years of experience in school leadership and brings with him a passion for excellence and raising students who will be known for their confidence and strength of character.

Ms. Sophie Che
Chinese Co-Principal
Ms. Sophie Che graduated with a M.A. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Sichuan University, where her focus was in Chinese as a second language. Before she came to YCIS Chongqing as Chinese Co-Principal, Ms. Che had worked as a Chinese language and culture co-ordinator in an IB school in Chengdu. She has 12 years of experience in Chinese teaching from primary school to university and shows strong care for student character development and academic excellence.
