  YCIS Chongqing provides an international education from Year 7 up to Year 12. In Years 10, 11 and 12, students work on course work set by the University of Nebraska's Independent High School or the Open Access College in Australia. Our teachers supervise the students and give them assistance in all of their lessons.

The school has developed an international curriculum with English as the language of instruction. However, an important element in the curriculum is Chinese Language Studies in which students are required to learn Putonghua.

The students in Years 7 - 9 also study Mathematics, English, Science, History, Geography - Art & Design, Design & Technology, Information Technology, Physical Education and Personal & Social Education.

The informal curriculum is also an important part of the curriculum at Yew Chung. A wide range of  extracurricular activities and community service programmes are provided that students must participate in.

College and Career Guidance, Personal and Social Support, Academic Learning Support are other ways in which the students' learning is supported by the informal curriculum.
